Siempre Tango is run by a volunteer board of dedicated students, commuity members and teachers who take on primary responsibility for organising the milongas, special functions, and promotion of the Association.
Each committee member is an active and passionate participant in the local tango community and they are driven by their desire to provide an environment that nurtures and expands tango in Adelaide.
Committee members are not paid for their contribution, work and energy – and believe us they put in hundreds of hours, not many of which are seen by or obvious to the wider dance community. Non-teaching members receive free milongas and do not pay for their 8-week class blocks. Teachers are paid for their teaching, but not for their committee work (for example, current teachers are also president, treasurer, secretary, website manager etc); Siempre Tango teachers do receive free milonga entry.
The current committee members are:
Andrew Gibki – design, dj
Janett Jackson – planning & development
Mike Lim – secretary
Claire MacKenzie – front of house
Mark Stojani – president, dj
Irene Tredrea – enrolments, front of house, promotions
Anabel Pascoe – treasurer
The committee also draws on the talents of various professionals to guide its growth and development:
Megan Jones – project development
Ben Thoman – web nerd
Di Kidd – advertising & publicity
Colleen Young – marketing
Carlo Sansour – management
